RICHMOND -- The Earlham College women's soccer team took a 2-0 loss to Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday afternoon in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
The Quakers fell to 3-10-1 (2-5-1 HCAC) while the Lions improved to 9-7-1 (7-0-1 HCAC).
Mount St. Joseph scored its first goal of the contest in the 24th minute after a free kick play. A lion got open on the far side and received the free kick and made a shot on the ground which bounced off the post into the goal.
Another goal came in the 61st minute from a penalty kick.
The Quakers were outshot 26-0 and trailed in corner kicks 12-1.
Reigning HCAC defensive player of the week
Becca Hancock made 14 saves in the match.
Earlham will close its season on Wednesday when Defiance College comes to Matlack-Messer Stadium for Senior Day at 3:30 p.m.
