FINAL SCORE: Franklin 2, Earlham 1 (OT)
LOCATION: Richmond, Indiana (Darrell Beane Stadium)

RICHMOND, Indiana – A late goal in regulation followed by an overtime winner in the 97th minute conspired to lift visiting Franklin College to a 2-1 overtime win over Earlham College men's soccer, spoiling what had been shaping up as a jubilant Senior Day game on Saturday evening at Darrell Beane Stadium.
Earlham found the back of the Franklin goal in the 23rd minute on a header by
Quentin Berry, off a free kick from
Sean Campbell.
The Quakers' 1-0 lead lasted deep into the second half and looked like it might hold as the final, when Earlham was called for a foul in the box in the 87th minute. Franklin's Dany Escamilla converted the ensuing penalty kick, knotting the game at 1-1.
In the seventh minute of the first OT period, Escamilla laid a pass into the six-yard box from the near-side corner where the Grizzlies' Angel Tapia beat Earlham keeper
Tyler Smith for the game winner.
Franklin outshot Earlham, 16-12, but the Quakers finished with a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Smith finished the game with seven saves, while Franklin keeper Elliott Clark charted nine stops.
Earlham men's soccer returns to Darrell Beane Stadium on Wednesday, March 24, when the Quakers host Transylvania University. Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
