RICHMOND, Indiana – Hanover College scored five goals over the opening two quarters and Earlham College men's lacrosse was unable to keep pace, and the Quakers ended the night with a 7-1 loss to the Panthers at Darrell Beane Stadium.
Avery Rush-Elias notched the lone Earlham goal with 6:56 remaining in the fourth quarter, making the score 6-1 for Hanover.
The Panthers recorded three goals in the opening frame and added two more in the second to hold a 5-0 lead at the intermission. Hanover tacked on a sixth goal late in the third quarter, and found the back of the Earlham goal one final time late in the fourth quarter.
Steven Shaughnessy finished the game with 12 saves, as the Quakers were outshot 42-15. The Panthers also held a 41-23 advantage in ground balls.
Earlham men's lacrosse is idle until next Wednesday, April 7, when the Quakers travel to Anderson, Indiana, to face the Anderson Ravens. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
