GREENCASTLE, Indiana – DePauw University jumped out to a six-goal lead before visiting Earlham College could get on the scoreboard, and the Quakers came away with a 20-2 loss to the Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Reavis Stadium.
The game was the first meeting between the two schools.
DePauw (1-1) posted a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and tacked on two more goals in the second before
Kevin Ventura found the back of the Tigers' goal off a pass from
Elijah Gamber. The Tigers extended their lead with three more goals, and held a 9-1 advantage at the halftime intermission.
The Tigers struck again just over four minutes into the third stanza before the Quakers answered. Ventura again had the Earlham goal, this time on an unassisted score with 9:50 remaining in the quarter.
DePauw added six goals in the third quarter and four in the fourth for the final 20-2 margin.

Steven Shaughnessy recording 12 saves. Patrick Lawton and Jack Gruchacz combined for eight saves in the DePauw goal.
Will Roberts led DePauw with seven goals and three assists for 10 points, while Ben Davis charted six goals and three assists for nine points. Tyler McCoy also recorded a hat trick with three goals.
Earlham men's lacrosse will be back at Darrell Beane Stadium on Tuesday, March 9, when it hosts Edgewood College in a non-conference matchup. Game time will be 5:00 p.m. at Darrell Beane Stadium.
