RICHMOND, Indiana – Six unanswered goals by Anderson University in the second quarter proved to be the difference-maker as the Ravens downed Earlham College men's lacrosse, Wednesday evening at Darrell Beane Stadium.

The Quakers held a 4-3 lead after the first 15 minutes of play, thanks to a pair of goals by Logan Reihing, including a man-up marker with 7:07 left in the opening stanza to give Earlham its first lead of the game, as well as single goals from Avery Rush-Elias and Jason Slain.

However, the Ravens held the Quakers scoreless during the second quarter while posting six goals of their own, taking a 9-4 lead into the halftime break. Cole Whatley had three goals in the second quarter alone and had five in the opening half.

Anderson also held Earlham in the third quarter, and got a pair of goals from Josh Rhodes to extend its lead to 11-4 after 45 minutes.

Earlham began its rally effort in the fourth quarter with consecutive goals from Slain, Kevin Ventura, and Cameron Jackson, which cut the Anderson lead to 11-7 with 3:14 showing on the game clock. The Ravens struck twice in the waning minutes to stop the Quakers' come-back bid and escape Darrell Beane Stadium with the win.

Anderson outshot Earlham, 44-26, and the Ravens held a 45-27 advantage in ground balls. The Quakers were 22-of-27 on clear attempts. Earlham goalie Steven Shaughnessy finished the night with 12 saves,

Earlham men's lacrosse plays its final home regular season game of the 2021 campaign on Saturday, April 24, when it hosts Transylvania University at 1:00 p.m. on the turf at Darrell Beane Stadium.
