RICHMOND, Ind. - The Earlham College volleyball team swept Wilmington College 25-7, 25-15, 25-19 in the Druley Performance Gym on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
With its third straight victory, Earlham is 6-3 overall as Wilmington falls to 2-7. Earlham has also won nine in a row against Wilmington dating back to 2014.
Erin Wagner and
Maria Young showcased their teamwork early as Wagner assisted Young seven times in the first set. The duo set the tone for Quakers early and the momentum carried through to the third set.
Young led Earlham with 12 kills, while
Caroline Mulvihill added seven and
Sarah Dickman contributed four.
Wagner topped Earlham with 26 assists as she added 13 digs.
Skyler Murray added seven assists. Mulvihill,
Jennifer Shamel and
Meg Kobman each had two service aces.
Shamel led Earlham with 17 digs as Kobman finished with 10.
Olivia Kyrk had three blocks with Mulvihill and
Giselle Mora adding two apiece.
Earlham returns to the court this weekend at the Wittenberg University Fall Classic on Sept. 17-18. The Quakers face Marietta College on Friday at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Earlham plays Alma College (10 a.m.) and the host Tigers (4 p.m.).
