NEW CONCORD, Ohio - Earlham women's soccer picked up their first win of the season on Opening Day in a 1-0 win at Muskingum University on Wednesday, Sept.1. The team win also marked the first win of
Lydia Harvey's career as she is serving as the teams interim head coach.
Tess Cunningham scored for the Quakers at 82:12 in the match at North Turf Field that was the season opener for both teams. The goal was the fifth in Cunningham's career at Earlham and her first since she scored four times in 2019.
Jenna Hoeh was credited with the assist on the play, which was the fifth in her time with the Quakers.
Makayla Hurey had three saves for the Quakers as she faced the same number of shots on goal. Overall, the Quakers had a 19-6 advantage in shots as the corner kicks were tied at 1-1.
Earlham (1-0) entertains John Carroll University in its home opener at Matlack-Messer Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 4.
The non-conference contest is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
