HANOVER -- The Earlham College women's soccer team dropped its conference opener at Hanover College on Wednesday. The Panthers first scored in the fourth minute and kept the pressure on to total five goals by the end of the match.
Earlham falls to 1-6, 0-1 HCAC while Hanover improves to 6-0-2, 1-0 HCAC.
The Panthers netted three goals on junior goalkeeper
Becca Hancock in the first half, and began the second frame strong with two more goals in the first 17 minutes.
The Quakers were blanked on the shot category while Hanover took 2t attempts on goal, and put 11 on target. Earlham was also kept off the board for corner kicks while the Panthers enjoyed 11 set plays from the corner arc.
Hancock recorded six saves in the effort.
The Quakers will be back in action on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The match will serve as the first part of a doubleheader with the men's teams doing battle afterwards.
