RICHMOND – The Earlham College men's soccer team continued its 2022 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a 1-0 loss to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon.
The Quakers fell to 2-6-1 (0-2 HCAC) while the Lions improved to 3-9 (1-1 HCAC).
Quentin Berry recorded a shot in the opening minute of play for the Quakers. MSJ then took possession the other way for a fourth-minute goal that would prove to be the deciding difference.
The Quakers outshot the Lions 19-4 in the contest, and led 10-1 in the second half. Freshman
Ethan Rose put a shot to the upper corner of the goal in the 86th minute that was narrowly saved by the Lion goalkeeper.
Earlham led in corner kicks 6-3.
Tyler Smith collected two saves in goal.
After the final whistle, the Quakers honored their nine seniors with senior day.

Blessed Shumba were honored by the team.
Earlham will continue its season on Wednesday at Defiance College. The HCAC matchup is slated for 3:30 pm.
