MBB takes down No.25 Wabash

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Earlham College men's basketball team earned its first win of the season over No.25 Wabash College 65-57 on Wednesday evening. 

Jaden Terry led the Quakers with 21 points and five rebounds. The senior shot 8-of-17 from the floor and had one steal. Tommy Makabu and Anthony Phillips both reached 14 points, and the pair combined for five rebounds and four steals. 

Earlham held the 25th ranked team in the latest d3hoops.com listings to a 31% field goal percentage for the contest, and caused eight turnovers by the Little Giants. 

The Quakers held an 11 point lead at the halftime break after shooting 43% in the opening period. Earlham took the lead off of a 15-2 run in the middle of the half. 

The Quakers got even more efficient in the second haf with a 52% field goal percentage as a team. Wabash scored a 9-2 run to bring the score to 45-43 with 12:05 remaining in the second half. Earlham pulled the lead back again with an 11-2 run to lead 60-51 heading into the final three minutes. 

Earlham will begin its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference slate on Saturday against Manchester University in Druley Performance Gym at 3 pm.
