HANOVER – The Earlham College women's basketball team fell at Hanover College 76-61 on Saturday afternoon.
The Quakers fell to 0-17 (0-10 HCAC) while the Panthers improved to 10-8 (7-6 HCAC).
The freshman duo of
Amari Bradford and
Janaiya Bright each tallied 14 points and combined for 18 points on the afternoon.
The Panthers got off to a hot start and led 17-7 midway through the first quarter. The Quakers found a rallying call in the second period and outscored Hanover 19-17 in the frame. Earlham had its highest shooting percentage of the game in the second with a 53% clip.
The Quakers posted another high clip in the third quarter with a shooting percentage of 42%. Despite the improved scoring, the Quaker defense could not keep up with the Hanover offense.
The Quakers will be back on the court with a road trip to Bluffton on Wednesday. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 pm.
