HANOVER – The Earlham College track and field teams both recorded sixth-place finishes at the Hanover Collegiate Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The women's team scored 13 points while the men's team recorded 31.5.
Earlham will stack up with conference teams again next weekend at the Manchester Invitational on Saturday.
Here are some of the top performances of the day for the Quake:
Men's 10,000 meter run: Freshman
Connor Del Carmen scored the only running event win of the day for Earlham in the 10k race. The freshman ran a time of 32:15.24 to win the event.
Men's 100 meter dash:
Sheldan Lindsay finished the shortest sprint in second place after recording a time of 11.46 seconds on the track.
Women's discus throw:
Makaylah Castelow earned a fourth-place finish in the discus after recording a throw of 32.33 meters on her final throw of the afternoon.
Women's hammer throw: Senior
Willa Summers scored a podium finish in the hammer throw with her mark of 34.32 meters.
Men's triple jump:
Blessed Shumba jumped his way to a third-place finish with a mark of 11.78 in the frigid weather.
Men's high jump:
Josh Ozanne led a Quaker contingent in the high jump with a second-place finish after clearing 5'5". Shumba followed in fourth place along with
David Turner.
Women's high jump:
Olivia Kyrk leaped her way into fourth place by clearing 4'6.75".
Men's javelin throw:
John Mahaney earned a third-place finish for the Quakers with his throw of 42.27 meters in the javelin.
Men's 200 meter dash: Lindsay scored again in the 200 with his time of 22.61 placing him seventh.
