RICHMOND – In the final game before the conference slate, the Earlham College baseball team fell to DePauw University 10-3 in Sadler Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Quakers fell to 11-5 while the Tigers improved to 7-9.
Andrew Bradley had the bright spot in the Quaker offense with a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the first inning.
Dillon Fischer started the evening on the mound for Ealrham and tallied three strikeouts in five innings.
The Tigers scored three runs in the first inning after a groundout, a wild pitch, and a home run brought baserunners home.
Batting cleanup in the order, Bradley sailed a home run over the Maroon Monster in the bottom of the inning and brought
Nathan Lancianese home with him.
DePauw added a run in the fourth and fifth innings, and two runs in the sixth.
Trailing 10-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Quakers managed to load the bases and score a run after
Easton Embry fought for a walk.
The Quakers will begin Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday with a doubleheader at Mount St. Joseph University. First pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.
