KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Earlham College women's lacrosse team began its 2022 season with a 16-2 loss to Kalamazoo College on Sunday afternoon.
The Quakers begin 0-1 while the Hornets improve to 3-1.
Josie Whorton and
Serena Pisacano both scored unassisted goals for the Quakers. Pisacano and
Maya Claggett led Earlham with six ground balls each. Claggett also caused four turnovers along with
Jillian Schlieper.
Mackenzie Kotch played all 60 minutes in the cage and recorded nine saves.
The Hornets scored in the opening minute of play and led by four goals at the end of the first quarter. Pisacano scored the first Earlham goal midway through the second quarter to make the score 12-1 at halftime.
The Quakers were outshot 34-10 on the afternoon.
Earlham will be back in action on Thursday when Asbury comes to Darrell Beane Stadium for a 4 pm contest.
