MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Earlham College field hockey team continued its 2022 slate with a 2-1 loss at Allegheny College on Sunday morning. 

The Gators got on the board early in the second quarter with a goal in the 19th minute off a penalty corner play. The home squad notched a second goal in the 43rd minute on a second-chance shot from a corner play. 

Earlham made its way onto the scoreboard in the 50th minute from Alyssa Johnson. Johnson took a shot off a penalty corner from Regan Seeman which was saved by the Gator goalkeeper. Johnson fielded the rebound and put away the goal with a second-chance opportunity. 

Johnson was joined by Guinn Schalck for the lead in shots for EC with two on goal. 

Rachel Alma recorded her second highest save total of the season with 11 in goal. 

The Quakers were outshot 20-8 on the day and trailed 20-4 in penalty corners. 

Earlham will be back in action on Friday at home against Rhodes in Darrell Beane Stadium at 3 pm.
