BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Earlham College women's basketball team had four players hit double-digit points in a 72-59 loss at Bluffton University on Wednesday evening.
Jay Bright led the Quakers with 15 points and five rebounds on the evening.
Amari Bradford put up 12 points with five boards.
Neely Trenshaw and
Alexis Gibson both reached 11 points and combined for nine rebounds.
Bailey Gibson led in the paint with six rebounds.
The Quakers got off to a slow start and trailed 18-10 after shooting 26% on field goals in the opening quarter. The offense found its footing in the second frame, and EC hit 50% in the quarter, but still trailed 37-24 heading into the halftime break.
The Beavers shot at a 48% clip in the second half to protect their lead.
Earlham will be on the court again on Saturday playing host to Mount St. Joseph University in a doubleheader. The women will tip-off at 1 pm, while the men's contest will follow at 3 pm.
