RICHMOND – The Earlham College men's basketball team dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup with Franklin College 73-67 on Thursday evening. Originally scheduled to be at Franklin on Wednesday, the game was moved due to winter weather.
Joffrey Nunnally led the Quakers with a career high 15 points. The freshman also collected three rebounds and four steals.
Tommy Makabu and
James Holder also reached double digit points with 12 and 10 respectively.
Anthony Phillips led under the board with 11 rebounds.
After getting out to a 9-3 lead in the opening three minutes, the Quakers allowed a 7-2 run by Franklin. At the 10:21 mark, the Grizzlies took a 19-13 lead. Undeterred, the Quakers rebounded with a 10-0 run. The Grizzlies ended the half on a hot streak, outscoring the home squad by seven points in the final six minutes.
Franklin led through the entire second half, after shooting a 46% field goal percentage in the frame.
The Quakers will be back in action on Saturday at Anderson University. Tip off is slated for 3 pm, and will follow the women's game.
