RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team began Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a 75-59 loss to Hanover College on Saturday.
Jay Bright led the Quakers with 18 points and eight rebounds on the afternoon.
Alexis Gibson scored nine points, and led the Quakers with nine boards.
Willow Runyon reached double digits with 12 points, and dished out three assists.
The Quakers shot 44.4% from 3-point range, and made five-of-six free throws.
Earlham fell behind in the second quarter of play, with only eight points scored in the frame, and a six minute scoring drought. The best quarter of play for the Quakers was the fourth quarter, Earlham scored 23 points and shot 53% on field goals in the frame.
Earlham will continue play on Tuesday at Kuyper College. Tip-off is slated for 5 pm in Grand Rapids, Mich.
