CLEVELAND, Ohio – As part of celebrating its 40th anniversary, the North Coast Athletic Conference announced an All-Decade team for field hockey to celebrate the best players in the conference over the past 10 seasons. 

Earlham graduates Denise Bergdolt and Meg Murphy were both named to the All-Decade team, following Player of the Year honors for both athletes in 2021. 

Bergdolt led the Quakers in goals, assists, and shots in 2021, a season which saw the Quakers host their first conference tournament game in program history. She was named NCAC Midfielder of the Year for the season. In her career, Bergdolt scored 28 goals and dished out 19 assists. She is the career leader in assists, and is second in program history for goals and points. In addition to first team All-NCAC honors in 2021, Bergdolt also earned second team honors in 2019. 

Murphy is the career leader in save percentage at goalie for the Quakers at .777, and boasted a .99 goals against average during her career. Murphy has the most shutouts in program history (16) as well as the most wins in her career (21). During the 2021 season, she recorded 10 shutouts and a .61 goals against average, she was named NCAC Goalkeeper of the Year.
