TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Earlham College men's basketball team dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday evening 57-52.
Tommy Makabu continued his hot streak with a team-high 18 points.
Jaden Terry also reached double digits with 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
The Quakers had a hot start with a 44% field goal percentage in the opening half. EC used this to gain a 29-27 advantage at the halftime break.
After starting the second half with a 6-0 run, Earlham allowed an 11-0 run by Rose in the next four minutes. A layup by
Anthony Phillips gave Earlham its last lead of the contest at the 7:46 mark. The Engineers then scored an 8-0 run to lead 49-43 with just under five minutes remaining.
The Quakers will be back in action with a doubleheader against Hanover College in Druley Performance Gym on Saturday. The men will kick off the action at 1 pm, with the women's senior day following at 3 pm.
