LOUISVILLE, Ky. The Earlham College men's soccer team picked up a road win over Spalding University with a 2-1 final score against the Golden Eagles on Tuesday evening.
The Quakers improved to 2-1-2 on the season.
Quentin Berry recorded the first goal of the match in the 18th minute of play. The senior forward was sent cross-field by Oliver Stratton-Treadway to the right side of the Golden Eagle penalty area. Berry took a one-touch shot to the top left corner to give EC the lead.
In the 61st minute,
Andre Moriel played a cross right in front of the Spalding goal, trying to hit Berry for a second score. The Golden Eagle goalkeeper deflected the cross away from Berry, but a Spalding defender caught the deflection for an own goal on the play.
Leading 2-0, Earlham allowed a transitional goal in the 82nd minute.
Earlham was outshot 15-9 on the evening, and the Quakers did not earn a corner kick to 11 from Spalding.
Duncan Jordahl collected three saves in goal.
Earlham will travel to future-HCAC school Berea College on Friday for a 5 pm contest.
