Women's tennis splits on road trip

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Earlham College women's tennis team split a pair of matches with Trine University, and Manchester University on Saturday afternoon. 

MATCH ONE: EARLHAM 2  TRINE 7

Payton Dugan and Maddie Cherry earned the wins for Earlham in match one on the day, competing at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. Dugan took wins of 6-1 and 6-2 for the point, and Cherry won 6-2, 6-1. 

MATCH TWO: EARLHAM 7  MANCHESTER 2

Cherry and Dugan took wins again, this time switching singles positions. Cherry won at the No. 1 spot 6-1, 6-0, and Dugan won at No. 2 6-1, 6-2. 

Maria Farst took the win at No. 4 singles 6-3, 7-6 against the Spartans. Natalee McCann and Elizabeth Hoff rounded out the Quaker lineup with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. 

Cherry and Hoff teamed up to take the win in No. 1 singles 8-5, and Dugan and McCann won No. 3 singles 8-0. 

The Quakers will be back in action again on Wednesday against Indiana University Southeast, and Indiana University East at home. The match will be the first on the newly-named Gene Hambrick Varsity Tennis Court in Richmond.
