GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Earlham College volleyball team completed the Knight Invite hosted by Calvin College on Sunday with an 0-2 day.
GAME ONE: CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 3 EARLHAM 0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-21)
Freshman
Caylee Brandes led the offense with eight kills and a .182 attack percentage.
Lily Virgili scored five kills with a .333 attack percentage, and four blocks.
Ava Walters dished out 18 assists at the net, and
Katie Conner led the back line with 10 digs.
As a team, the Quakers scored 26 kills, and had a .104 hitting percentage. Earlham's front line had a big day with eight blocks as a team, and six players who recorded at least one block. Concordia had efficient serving, with nine aces.
GAME TWO: NORTH PARK 3 EARLHAM 2 (25-18, 25-17, 17-25, 24-26, 15-4)
Skyler Murray led the Quakers with eight kills and a .227 percentage in game two, as
Sydney Bleyle dished out a team-high 12 assists.
Maria Young scored seven kills and had five blocks, and Conner recorded 11 digs. Young scored her 1,000th career kill in the second match of the day.
As a team, the Quakers scored 34 kills with a .093 attack percentage, and seven blocks. Earlham shot negative in two frames, and had two sets over .230 on offense.
The Quakers will be back in Druley Performance Gym on Tuesday evening against Heidelberg University at 7 pm.
