Volleyball falls at MSJ

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College volleyball team took a road loss to Mount St. Joseph University 3-1 on Saturday. 

Anniyah Harrington hit 12 kills on offense, and had two assisted blocks at the net. Liv Kyrk scored nine kills, and attacked at a .438 clip with one ace and a solo block. 

Sydney Bleyle dished out 22 assists with 10 digs and one service ace. Madison Bizjak led the back line with 25 digs and two aces. Addison Piatt scored two kills, and three aces on the afternoon. 

The Quakers posted a -.054 attack percentage in the first set, scoring five kills with seven errors in a 25-17 loss. Earlham rebounded in the second set with 15 kills and a .109 hitting percentage, but was not able to stop the Lion offense, which committed just one error in the set. Trailing 24-22, Mount St. Joseph scored a 6-2 run to win the set.

Earlham took the win in set three after posting its lowest error count of the day. The Quakers scored 12 kills with just five errors for a .152 hitting percentage, but the errors returned in the final set with 11 errors and a .027 hitting percentage. 

Earlham will be back in action again on Tuesday at Ohio Wesleyan University for non-conference action. First serve is scheduled for 7 pm in Granville, Ohio.
