ANDERSON, Ind. – The Earlham College men's soccer team improved to 2-1 in HCAC play with a 2-0 win over Anderson University on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlham recorded its first goal of the day with a strike by
Grant Courtad in the 35th minute. Courtad was assisted by
Rhoi Phulusa and
Braden Guinn.
After leading through the halftime break, Phulusa added a second goal for the Quakers in the 63rd minute, with an assist from
Markku Laukkanen.
Laukkanen led the Quakers in shooting on the day with four shots, three on frame.
Despite being outshot 22-15, the Quakers were more efficient with their shots, leading 10-6 in shots on goal.
Ryland Wamsley collected six saves in goal for his first HCAC shutout of the season.
The Quakers host Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday in Matlack-Messer Stadium. The men's match is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 pm, and directly follow the women's match.
