WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Earlham College men's lacrosse team sailed past Wilmington College in a 5-1 road victory on Saturday afternoon.
Ryan Polack led the Quake with three goals, while
Robert Gift scored two goals with one assist.
Ethan Upton recorded three assists.
Donovan Shea led the defense with one caused turnover, and Upton collected six ground balls.
Braden Greeno walled off the cage with seven saves and one goal allowed.
Wilmington put up the first goal of the game in the third minute of play on a man-up opportunity. Earlham then played three quarters of shutout defense.
Gift notched the first Quaker goal early in the second quarter, with an assist from
Caleb Koehler. Polack scored twice in the third frame, and led the fourth quarter off with a goal. Gift rounded out the scoring with eight minutes remaining in the fourth.
The Quakers will host Heidelberg University for their first game of the season in Darrell Beane Stadium on Wednesday evening. Game time is scheduled for 6 pm.
