RICHMOND, Ind. The Earlham College baseball team kicked off its weekend series with Manchester with a 3-1 win over the Spartans in Sadler Stadium. 

Hayden Scalf earned the win with a complete game on the mound. Scarf allowed just one run on six hits, with four strikeouts. 

Max Stewart led the Quakers on offense with two hits and two RBI. Max Fries reached third place in program history with his 40th career double. 

The Spartans loaded the bases after a bunt-single in the third inning with no outs. Scarf induced the double-play on the next batter, but one run scored on the play. The side was then retired on the next batter. 

Earlham got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning with a two-run single by Stewart to left field. Fries tacked on the final run in the fifth inning on a double deep down the left field line. 

Earlham will continue its series with a doubleheader in Sadler Stadium tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 12 pm.
