CARMEL, Ind. – On Wednesday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2023-24 all-conference players and special awards for women's tennis. 

Two Quakers were named to the All-HCAC team for this season, Maddie Cherry and Payton Dugan. In addition, Dugan was named HCAC Newcomer of the Year. 

Cherry played predominantly at No.1 singles for the Quakers this season, with a 10-10 record. In conference play, Cherry posted a 5-1 record at No.1 singles and a 3-3 record at doubles. 

Dugan served as the No.2 single for most of the season, with an overall 14-7 record. Dugan went 5-1 at the No.2 position in conference play, and 6-0 in doubles.

The duo picked up one win together at No.1 doubles against Transylvania on September 23. 

Both athletes won their matchups in the HCAC Tournament at Anderson on Tuesday evening. 

Earlham finished its season with five wins, and a 2-4 conference mark. The Quakers made the conference tournament for the first time since being reintroduced in 2022, with a 5-4 loss at Anderson University.
