RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College volleyball team began the 2024 season with a pair of wins in the Earlham Fall Invitational on Friday evening.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 3 WOOSTER 0 (26-24, 25-7, 25-16)
The Quakers opened the tournament with a 3-0 sweep of the College of Wooster.
Caylee Brandes led the offense with 12 kills and just one error for a .611 attack percentage. The sophomore also recorded one solo block.
Aniyah Harrington scored 10 kills, attacking at a .421 clip.
Sydney Bleyle dished out a team-high 15 assists, while
Ava Walters set nine times.
Lauren Newcomer collected 11 digs and hit three aces as the libero of game one.
Gabby Gerardi and
Skyler Murray also scored a hat trick of aces.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 3 NORTHLAND 0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-14)
The Quakers earned another sweep in game two, led by Harrington on offense. The junior scored 11 kills with a .360 percentage.
Jasmyn Meeker and
Addison Piatt both scored nine kills, and attacked over .400. Piatt boasted a .529 percentage with no errors, and three aces.
The setters were active in game two, with Bleyle and Walters both eclipsing 20 assists.
Madison Bizjak served as libero with 29 digs.
The Quakers will continue play tomorrow against Asbury University at 11 am, the hosts then conclude the tournament against Trine University at 3 pm.
