RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's soccer team hosted crosstown rival IU East with a 1-0 loss on Saturday in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
Aiden Martinelli led the offense with three shots and two attempts on frame. Nic WIlson recorded a shot on a one-on-one attempt to goal in the 56th minute.
Ryland Wamsley collected one save in goal.
Both teams took four shots in the opening half, and the deadlock was broken by the Red Wolves in the 52nd minute after the visitors scored on a breakaway run.
The Quakers were outshot 12-10, but Earlham was more accurate, posting six shots on frame to just two from the Red Wolves.
The Quakers continue play at home on Tuesday against Wittenberg University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 pm.
