CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at the Charlie W. Tournament hosted by Mount St. Joseph University.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 0 MARIETTA 3 (12-25, 14-25, 18-25)
The Quakers began the tournament with a straight-set loss to Marietta with a team attack percentage of .051.
Liv Kyrk led the offense with seven kills.
Sydney Bleyle dished out 12 assists with one kill.
Ava Walters led the defense with eight digs and two service aces.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 1 MUSKINGUM 3 (24-26, 25-19, 19-25, 24-26)
The Quakers challenged Muskingum to a fourth set, and sent two sets above 25 points in the loss. The Quakers scored 54 kills and five blocks as a team, and allowed just one ace by the Muskies.
Caylee Brandes scored 16 kills with three blocks.
Addison Piatt hit 10 kills and recorded three aces. Walters and Bleyle dished out 30 and 12 assists respectively, and combined to add 22 digs.
Madison Bizjak led the back row with 25 digs.
The Quakers continue their OAC tour on Tuesday evening at Heidelberg University. First serve is scheduled for 7 pm.
