BEREA, Ky. – The Earlham College women's soccer team has qualified for its first HCAC Tournament with a 2-1 win at Berea College on Tuesday evening.
Mariana Mendez scored the opening goal of the contest in the 14th minute of play, with an assist from
Mallory Smith. Smith then scored what would become the game-winner in the 43rd minute with an assist from
Liz Burley.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Berea scored a consolation goal in the 89th minute.
Smith led the Quaker offense, tallying eight shots with six on target. Mendez also had a busy night with four shots.
Liz Godfrey collected six saves in goal.
The Quakers will advance into the postseason, playing on Saturday at Transylvania University at 7 pm.
