BARTOW, Fla. – The Earlham College softball team dropped a pair of games to begin Spring Break play in Florida on Monday.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 0 ST. SCHOLASTICA 11
Kamdyn DePew earned her first collegiate start, throwing two innings with five hits and four earned runs.
Shelby Messer threw two innings in relief with two hits and one strikeout.
Faith Butler went 1-2 with a double.
Drew Tubesing went 1-2.
Six of the 11 runs scored by the Saints were unearned, including the first four runs of the game.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 0 CURRY 1
Morgan Cooksey threw a complete seven innings with one hit and one earned run while scoring nine strikeouts.
Macie Ferguson went 2-3 with two stolen bases.
Emmerie Stump went 1-2 with a walk and a double.
After a walk in the top of the fifth inning, the Colonels scored their only hit of the game with a two-out double to left field for a score.
The Quakers continue Spring action in Florida tomorrow against Meredith College and Fontbonne University. First pitch is scheduled for 9 am, and 1:45 pm respectively.
