FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Earlham College baseball team fell to Penn State Behrend 5-3 in its final Spring Break matchup in Florida.
Cayman Huntsman started the game on the mound, and threw 6.1 innings with six hits and three earned runs allowed while fanning two batters.
Garret Odey threw the final two innings with one hit, one earned run, and one strikeout.
Noah Wagster went 3-5 with a double, a stolen base, and a run scored.
Sean Jeffries recorded two hits with a steal and a run.
Mac Moore hit a double and an RBI.
After a pair of hits to lead off the bottom of the first inning,
Noah Rosato hit an RBI-single to put the Quakers up 1-0. With one out, Moore hit a double to left field for another run.
The Lions scored a run in the top of the second with a two-out double.
Trailing 2-1, Penn State Behrend scored two runs off of a two-out single in the seventh inning to take the lead.
Jonathan Jimenez tied the score at 3-3 with an RBI-single in the bottom of the eighth.
Brendon Gibson scored from first on the play as a pinch runner.
The Lions plated two runs in the top of the ninth after a pair of errors from the Quakers.
Earlham returns to Sadler Stadium to host Principia College on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
