ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Earlham College men's lacrosse team took a decisive win over Warren Wilson College 23-5 on Saturday afternoon.
Robbie Gift led the offense with six goals and four assists off 13 shots on goal.
Elijah Gamber scored six goals, and dished out two assists.
Ethan Upton led the Quaker defense with eight caused turnovers and five ground balls.
Brady Shaw and
Liam McGlynn both picked up a team-high nine ground balls. The Quakers went 22-31 on faceoffs.
Ryan Dolafi collected three saves in the start in goal.
Brooks Pierce made five saves in the second half.
After the Owls scored the opening goal in the fourth minute of play, Gamber and
Ryan Polack put the Quakers up 2-0. Warren Wilson scored another goal in the middle of the first quarter, but the Quakers then scored eight straight goals to lead 10-2. Earlham carried an 11-3 lead into the halftime break.
The Owls struck fast in the second half with a goal after just 18 seconds of play. Earlham then got another hot streak, scoring eight straight goals in the third frame.
Leading 19-4, the Quakers added four more goals in the final quarter.
The Quakers return home to take on Washington and Jefferson College on Thursday evening.
