FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Earlham College baseball team continued Spring Break play with an 11-2 loss to Centenary University on Sunday.
Kyle Jeffries tossed 6.1 innings, allowing 11 hits and six earned runs with two strikeouts.
Vincent Witte threw the final 2.2 innings, recording three strikeouts, and just two hits.
Dylan Rieck went 2-4 with two RBI, and a double. Reece Zontz went 1-2 with a run scored and a walk.
The Cyclones got on the board in the first inning with a sacrifice fly, and scored five runs on seven hits and one error in the top of the third inning.
Trailing 6-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Rieck brought in two runs with a one-out single with the bases loaded. The Quakers loaded the bases again with one out, but were held to just two runs in the inning.
Earlham will be back in action tomorrow against the United States Merchant Marine Academy. First pitch is scheduled for 10 am.
