RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College baseball team dropped its Sunday matchup with Franklin College 8-2 in Sadler Stadium to cap off the weekend series.
Hayden Scalf threw six innings with six hits and three earned runs and four strikeouts.
Braeden Lewis threw two scoreless innings with only one hit allowed.
Mitchell Roether led the Quakers at the plate with three hits and one RBI.
Reece Zonts hit a one-out single in the bottom of the first inning, and stole second before coming home on a double to right field by Roether.
The Grizzlies took the lead in the top of the third on two runs from three hits. The visitors added two more runs in the fifth inning.
Jonathan Jimenez hit a leadoff double in the bottom of the fifth inning, and Zonts followed with an RBI-double in the gap in left-center.
Leading 5-2, Franklin scored three runs on two hits in the top of the ninth inning.
The Quakers host Kenyon College for a non-conference game on Tuesday evening in Sadler Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6 pm.
