Women's golf concludes season at rain-shortened HCAC Championship

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – Earlham College Women's Golf concluded their season today at the HCAC Championship at Kearney Hill Golf Links, the Pete Dye gem in Lexington.

The 54-hole event was rain-shortened to 36 holes.

On Day 1, Rorey Murphy (Sr., East Hampton, NY) led the Quakers with a 111. Then the rains came. Day 2 was a complete washout and the second round wrapped Sunday not withstanding a 30-minute lightening delay. Macky Laughlin (Jr., Richmond, IN) led the squad in the second round with a solid 93.

Head Coach Matt Brown said, "We cut 31 strokes off our first round team score on Sunday, but we dug ourselves such a hole we couldn't get out of the cellar. It's fair to say this was our best result in three years, but we still have a long way to go to get where we want. I personally want to thank Jalyn Kelsey (Sr., Hampstead, MD) and Rorey for stepping into our program from Field Hockey, providing great leadership on and off the course, and developing into competitive DIII golfers in the process."

The '25-'26 campaign opens August 26 at the Trine Kickoff Classic at Zoellner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
