LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Earlham College softball team dropped a pair of games at Transylvania University on Tuesday evening to conclude the regular season.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 1 TRANSYLVANIA 11
Tatum Rickert started in the circle, throwing 2.1 innings with six earned runs and two strikeouts.
Shelby Messer threw 1.2 innings with two earned runs and two strikeouts.
Mackenzie Harvey hit a two-out double in the top of the second inning, and came home on an RBI double by
Malaya Tanglao.
The Pioneers posted six runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning, and scored two each in the third and fourth innings.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 3 TRANSYLVANIA 6
Morgan Cooskey threw a complete game, allowing seven hits and three earned runs while striking out two.
Emmerie Stump went 1-3 with a double and two RBI.
The Pioneers scored their first runs in the third inning after an error in the infield, and notched three unearned runs in the frame. Transy then scored three runs on three hits in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Stump delivered a two-run double in the top of the sixth, and
Bo Shelton hit an RBI single to score stump for a 6-3 defeat.
The Quakers file in to the third seed in the HCAC standings, and are slated to take on Rose-Hulman in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament on Thursday at Transy. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 pm.
