RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College volleyball team swept Heidelberg and Alma for a 4-0 record in the Dr. Bill Brandes Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
MATCH ONE: EARLHAM 3 ALMA 0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-21)
Caylee Brandes led the Quakers with 15 kills and just one error for a .500 attack percentage and one block. Anniyah Harrington scored 13 kills with one error and a .480 hitting percentage and two aces.
Ava Walters dished out a team-high 26 assists and scored two aces.
Sydney Bleyle tallied 15 assists.
Madison Bizjak led the back line with 21 digs.
As a team, the Quakers scored 47 kills and swung at a .314 clip while hitting seven aces.
MATCH TWO: EARLHAM 3 HEIDELBERG 0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-22)
Charish Minor scored a team-high nine kills in the final matchup with a .428 hitting percentage and one solo block. Walters and Bleyle recorded 19 and 15 assists respectively, and each scored one ace. Bizjak led the defense with 16 digs, while Walters, Harrington and
Addison Piatt all reached double-digit digs.
Brandes and Harrington were named to the all-tournament team following competition.
The Quakers host Ohio Northern University on Tuesday for a 7 pm matchup in Druley Performance Gym.
