RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's basketball team fell to Bluffton University 57-47 in HCAC competition on Wednesday evening.
Amari Wright and
Berkley Shelton led the Quakers with 13 points each. Shelton also led the squad in rebounds with 11, and tallied three blocks with two steals. Wright dished out six assists with two steals and three boards.
Alexis Lynch brought down eight rebounds with five points and three assists, while
Sarah Riley scoured 10 points with seven boards.
After shooting 42% on field goals, and going 3-for-6 on 3-pointers in the first quarter, Earlham was held to just two field goals in the second frame, and fell behind 39-27 at halftime.
An 11-3 run brought the score to 42-36 and forced a timeout by the Beavers. Bluffton then outscored the Quakers 13-9 in the final quarter.
Earlham travels to Anderson University on Saturday for a 1 pm matchup at the Ravens.
