RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College baseball team scored five runs in the sixth inning in a 9-2 win over Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday evening.
Cayman Huntsman threw 5.1 innings to open the contest with two earned runs and two strikeouts.
Braeden Lewis picked up his first win of the season with a one-hit inning.
Lane Willoughby tallied two strikeouts in the ninth inning.
Mitchell Roether went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an intentional walk.
Ian Bullis tallied two hits with a double and an RBI with one run scored.
Bullis brought home the first run of the game with a two-out double to left field.
Jonathan Jimenez added another run in the fifth after he and
Evan Duncan hit back-to-back triples.
The Bishops scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Tied 2-2,
Tucker Williams brought in three runs with his first homer of the season. Later in the inning,
Sean Jeffries put a ball in play to bring home two more runs on an error from the OWU third baseman.
Jimenez led off the bottom of the eighth inning reaching on a fielding error, and the Quakers plated two runs on a
Noah Wagster single with the bases loaded.
Earlham hosts the Bishops again tomorrow for a doubleheader beginning at noon in Sadler Stadium.
