BARTOW, Fla. – The Earlham College softball team rounded out its Florida trip with a pair of losses on Friday afternoon.
GAME ONE: EARLHAM 8 PENN STATE BEHREND 12
Tatum Rickert shouldered 3.2 innings in game one after the Quakers were already in a deficit. The junior tallied two strikeouts with three earned runs.
Caitlyn Brooks went 3-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
Kymara Kennedy had her first career three-hit game with a double and three runs scored.
The Quakers trailed 8-0 in the middle of the third inning before a three-run third. Penn State Behrend then scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning to hold the Quakers back.
GAME TWO: EARLHAM 1 MOUNT UNION 5
Morgan Cooksey tossed a complete six innings in game two, scoring four strikeouts with five earned runs on 11 hits.
Faith Butler went 1-3 with the lone Quaker RBI in the game. Tiffany Sower came in as a pinch hitter in the seventh and reached with a single.
The Quakers return to Richmond, and host the University of Olivet next Saturday for a doubleheader in Ellie Bewley Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
