CARMEL, Ind. – On Tuesday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference named Ivan Wularu and Vanessa Akuaku as this week's HCAC Athletes of the Week for men's and women's tennis. 

Wularu went 4-0 this week in singles play, and 2-2 in doubles for Earlham. Wularu won 6-4, 6-0 at No.2 singles against Mount Union, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 at No.3 singles against Rose-Hulman, 6-0, 6-0 at No.1 singles against Berea, and 6-2, 6-2 against IU Southeast at No.1 singles. In doubles play, Wularu picked up wins over Berea and IU Southeast.

Akuaku went 4-0 in singles play and 3-1 in doubles this week. The sophomore picked up wins at No.1 singles against Rose-Hulman 6-0, 6-1, No.1 singles against Berea 6-0, 6-1, No.1 singles against IU Southeast 6-4, 3-6, 11-9, and No.1 singles against Mount Union 6-3, 6-4. In doubles play, Akuaku scored wins over Rose-Hulman, Berea and IU Southeast.

The Quakers continue play on Friday, hosting IU East at 3 pm in the Gene Hambrick Varsity Tennis Center.
