Women's soccer picked sixth in HCAC Preseason Poll

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's soccer team was picked to finish sixth in the HCAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

THE SCHEDULE

The Quakers open the season on September 1st at Wilmington College for the Quaker Bowl Rivalry Game. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm. The Quakers have their first home game hosting St. Mary's College on September 5th at 3 pm in Matlack-Messer Stadium. A road trip to Heidelberg, Earlham hosts Indiana University East for a crosstown showdown on September 12th. The Quakers host Muskingum University on the 23rd for the final non-conference game of the season. 

HCAC play begins on September 26th at Manchester University at 1 pm. After a home match against Anderson on October 3rd, the Quakers battle three straight road contests at Franklin, Transylvania and Bluffton. Mount St. Joseph comes to campus on October 17th for Homecoming Weekend with a 1 pm matchup in Matlack-Messer Stadium. Earlham is set to take on Rose-Hulman and Hanover before ending the regular season at home against Berea on October 28th.

THE PLAYERS

Three Quakers earned All-HCAC honors last season, with two returners for the 2026 campaign.  Representing the Quakers on the second team, Diane Scalise scored two goals, including the first goal against Hanover since the 2013 season. The junior midfielder also dished out one assist. Scalise started 17-or-18 games, and played over 1,200 minutes. Abigail Blake was named to the third team all-conference in her freshman season. Blake saw action in every game, with 11 starts and 1,100 minutes logged.

THE COACHES

Lydia Harvey returns for her sixth season leading the Quakers after qualifying for the program's first HCAC Tournament since 2012 last year. Harvey is once again joined by Padgett Gustavson for the duo's fifth season together. 

HCAC OUTLOOK

The Quakers were tabbed to repeat as the sixth seed in the HCAC Standings in the preseason coaches poll, earning 38 votes. Earlham will be chasing Anderson in fifth place who earned 49 votes.
