RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College athletics department is excited to welcome Daniel Ellis as its newest Head Men's Basketball Coach.

Ellis brings 16 years of collegiate coaching experience to the Quakers, including 11 years in NCAA Division III at Berry College and Wittenberg University.

"I am extremely excited and honored to join the Earlham College community as the new head men's basketball coach." said Ellis on the announcement. "I want to thank Director of Athletics Nick Johnson and everyone involved in the process for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to lead the program."

"Earlham is a special place. I cannot wait to get to know the Richmond community while working to develop a program that Earlham can be proud of."

Ellis comes to the Quakers from Ohio Christian University where he served as an assistant basketball coach for the Trailblazers. With Ellis on the staff, Ohio Christian went to two straight NCCAA National Tournaments, including a trip to the Final Four in 2025.

Prior to his time at OCU, Ellis spent time on staff at Wittenberg University, Berry College and Thomas More University. As a coach, Ellis has contributed to three NCAA Tournament appearances, three conference championships, two regional championships and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.

"I believe in developing young men both as basketball players and as people." said Ellis on his coaching style. "We will build a culture based on relationships, accountability, toughness, and a commitment to each other. I want our student-athletes to understand and appreciate the history and tradition of Earlham College while working to develop a program that Earlham can be proud to call their own."

"I also want to thank my family, friends, mentors, and coaches who have continually supported me throughout my career and helped prepare me for this opportunity."

"I'm excited to get to Richmond, meet our players and the Earlham community, and begin this journey together. There is a tremendous opportunity in front of us, one that we won't take for granted, and I look forward to the work ahead. Go Quakers!"
