RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College volleyball team opened its 2026 season with a three-set loss to DePauw University in Druley Performance Gym.
Caylee Brandes put on an offensive showcase, scoring 16 kills with a .333 attack percentage and two blocks. Freshman
Sadie Mae Calma played every role for the Quakers, scoring nine kills, 14 assists and 19 digs.
Emma Ledford led the setters with 19 assists.

Madison Bizjak led the back line with 21 digs.
Addison Piatt pulled in 15 digs, and scored nine kills with two aces. Freshman
Grace Gwin also reached double-digit digs with 10.
As a team, the Quakers scored 43 kills with a .121 attack percentage.
The Tigers worked an 18-12 lead in the first set, holding the Quakers off with defense to the tune of a .125 attack percentage for the hosts. Both teams swung better in the second set, with the Tigers hitting 17 kills with four errors to take a set win after the Quakers tied the frame at 20. Earlham hit 13 errors in the final set, leading to a 0.0 attack percentage in the 26-24 loss. Earlham was the first to 24, but committed three straight attacking errors in the final points.
The Quakers head west to take on the University of Chicago Tournament this Friday and Saturday. Earlham opens tournament play on Saturday against Trine University at 3:30 pm CT.
