RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College volleyball team split its pair of matches on Saturday to finish the Dr. Bill Brandes Memorial Tournament 2-1.
MATCH ONE: EARLHAM 0 CENTRE 3 (25-23, 25-18, 25-16)
Ciara Logan led the offense in the day's opener, scoring nine kills and a block.
Caylee Brandes tallied six kills.
Emma Ledford led the setters with 15 assists while
Sadie Mae Calma dished out nine.
Madison Bizjak led the back row with 17 digs.
As a team, the Quakers scored 29 kills with a .087 attack percentage.
MATCH TWO: EARLHAM 3 AUSTIN 0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-16)
The Quakers made short work of the Kangaroos in a rematch of last night's tournament opener. Brandes scored a team-high 16 kills while swinging .455 with only one error and two service aces. Calma recorded three aces with nine kills and eight assists.
Ledford dished out a team-high 13 assists, and Bizjak collected 13 digs in the back line.
As a team, the Quakers hit .294 with 37 kills, three blocks and eight aces.
Earlham will continue its season on Wednesday at Denison University. First serve is scheduled for 7 pm.
