RICHMOND, Ind. – A pair of early goals propelled the Earlham College women's soccer team past Muskingum University on Wednesday afternoon in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
Adriana Benitez kicked off the scoring with a long-distance strike to the bottom of the crossbar, falling inside the goal in the seventh minute of play.
Kiki Wallis capitalized on a free ball in on the back post to double the lead in the 11th minute.
After leading 2-0 at the halftime break, Earlham conceded a goal in the 49th minute.
The Quakers were outshot 13-9 on the day, and trailed 8-6 in shots on target.
Mallory Long led Earlham with two shots on goal.
Kaya Ito collected seven saves in goal.
Earlham is set to open conference play on Saturday at Manchester University. Kick off is slated for 1 pm.
