RICHMOND, Inf. – The Earlham College women's soccer team dropped its home-opener to St. Mary's College with a 5-1 loss on Saturday in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
The Belles struck first in the 19th minute of play, and added a goal just three minutes later. In the 34th minute,
Mallory Rich found the back of the net on a free ball from a corner kick to give the Quakers a goal heading into the halftime break.
St. Mary's came out with a goal in the 57th minute, and added two in the 87th and 88th minutes.
On the day, the Quakers were outshot 23-4.
Kaya Ito collected six saves in the opening half of play, while Jailyn Nerderman made three saves in the second half.
The Quakers are back in action on Wednesday evening with a 7pm matchup at Heidelberg University.
